粗大ゴミよりもタチが悪い菅直人首相

今週末（11月13～14日）、横浜で開催されるアジア太平洋経済協力会議（ＡＰＥＣ）首脳会議を目前に控え、高まる批判にさらされながら、支持率も低下する一方の菅直人首相だが、はたして議長という大役を務めることが出来るのだろうか。まさに八方塞がりというか泣きっ面に蜂でアイタタ・・・・状態の菅氏。今日はそんな菅氏に少しでも元気を出してもらえればと思い、ネットで彼を応援する画像を探してみた（笑）。

有言実行内閣なのに、言ったことを実行しないことから、「あなた存在価値あるんですか。総理大臣として粗大ゴミじゃないですか。」と迫る自民党の棚橋泰文議員に対して、「粗大ゴミという表現はこの場にフテキセツだから撤回しろ」と反論する菅氏。

「こんな歩道橋、危なくて渡れないわよ！」とつぶやくきっこちゃん。たしかに。

不思議なことにいくら探しても、ネットに菅氏を応援する画像はなかった。
逆に国民からも存在意義なし、全く信用できないなどと批判される画像はザックザク。
菅首相のこの先がそれほど長くないことを予菅しているのは、私だけじゃないだろう（笑）。

今週末に横浜に集まる世界のリーダーで、政治的な頭痛のタネを抱えているのはオバマ米大統領だけではない。13～14日に横浜で開くアジア太平洋経済協力会議（ＡＰＥＣ）首脳会議を目前に控え、菅直人首相は国民からのいくらかの応援を励みに議長という大役を務めることが出来るかもしれない。ただ、高まる批判にさらされているというのが現状だ。

読売新聞社と共同通信社が7日までに実施した世論調査では菅内閣の支持率が急落した。理由の１つには外交関係の対応に対する失望感が挙げられる。特に尖閣諸島沖の中国漁船衝突事件をめぐる対応が問題視された。今回の支持率急落は、1年あまり前に自由民主党が受けた国民からの警告を再現しているかのようだ。長期政権を維持してきた自民党は昨年8月末の総選挙で大敗し、民主党に政権の座を明け渡している。政権運営の経験が浅い民主党にとって、外交・防衛問題が大きな障害になる可能性がある、と一部アナリストは警告している。

読売新聞が実施した世論調査では、菅内閣の支持率が35％となり、10月上旬に実施した前回調査の53％から急落。民主党代表選で小沢一郎前幹事長を破り、再選を果たした直後に行われた9月中旬調査の66％も大幅に下回った。一方、不支持率は55％と、10月上旬の37％と9月中旬の25％をともに大幅に上回った。共同通信社の調査でも支持率が32.7％と、10月上旬の前回調査の47.6％を大幅に下回った。

APEC首脳会議の議長という大役を務める菅首相にとって特に悪いニュースとなったのは、民主党政権の外交・安全保障政策に不安を感じるという人が91％に上昇した点だ。読売新聞の世論調査ではその他にも、尖閣諸島沖の中国漁船衝突事件をめぐる菅内閣の一連の対応を「評価しない」との回答が82％となったほか、ロシアのメドベージェフ大統領が北方領土の国後島を訪問したことを「問題だ」と思う人が68％に上った。

とどめとなったのは、尖閣諸島沖で起きた中国漁船衝突事件を撮影したとされるビデオ映像が動画投稿サイト「ユーチューブ」に流出した問題だ。菅内閣の情報管理の甘さに対する批判が高まるなか、政府は事件のビデオ映像を国民に公開すべきだと思うとの回答が83％に上った。

菅内閣にとって唯一のなぐさめとなるのは、関税を原則撤廃して貿易を自由化する環太平洋経済連携協定（TPP）に「参加したほうがよい」と答えた人が61％に上ったことだ。菅内閣は9日、農業関連団体や多数の民主党議員の強い反対を押し切って、TPPについて「関係国との協議を開始する」と明記した経済連携協定（EPA）に関する基本方針を閣議決定した。ただ、TPP参加への判断は先送りした。

Shaky Diplomacy Scuttles Kan Ratings

U.S. President Barack Obama won’t be the only world leader in Yokohama this weekend with big political headaches. With the APEC summit meeting looming, Prime Minister Naoto Kan could use some encouragement from the Japanese people for playing an important role as a global host and Japan’s top diplomat. Instead, he’s getting loud jeers.

Two major opinion polls published since Sunday showed sharp drops in popular support for Mr. Kan’s government. One reason: Disappointment over his handling of foreign relations, particularly the recent territorial dispute with China. That echoes warnings from critics more than a year ago, when Japanese voters ousted the long-ruling Liberal Democratic Party in favor of Mr. Kan’s Democratic Party of Japan. Diplomacy and defense, some analysts warned, would be rough terrain for politicians inexperienced with power.

The Yomiuri Shimbun reported Monday the support rating for the Kan cabinet fell to 35% in the latest poll conducted Nov. 5-7, a stunning slide from 53% in early October and a high of 66% in mid-September, soon after he beat party kingpin Ichiro Ozawa in an internal election and defended his job as prime minister. Meanwhile the disapproval rating for the cabinet surged to 55% from 37% in October and 25% in September.
A similar poll by Kyodo News also showed popular support for Mr. Kan slipping to 32.7% from 47.6% in early October.

Particularly bad news for the prime minister, as he faces a huge task of leading top-level talks on regional cooperation and prosperity, was Yomiuri’s finding that 91% of the respondents were worried about the government’s foreign and national security policies. As for the cabinet’s handling of the scuffle with China, 82% of the people expressed disapproval. The recent visit to the Northern Territories by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was viewed as “problematic” by 68% of the respondents.

The final blow was the leak to the YouTube of a confidential video showing the collision between a Chinese trawler and Japanese coast guard vessels. As criticism of the government’s lax information management soared, a total of 83% of the respondents said the video should have been released earlier for public viewing.

A consolation prize for Mr. Kan: The Yomiuri poll showed 61% of the respondents said Japan should join the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a rigorous regional trade pact that could pave the way for significant trade liberalization between Japan and its key partners, including the U.S. The Kan cabinet is expected to approve a new trade policy that calls for initiating discussions to join the TPP, despite strong opposition from farm lobbies and many DPJ lawmakers.

粗大ゴミならリサイクル可能な部分もあるけど、菅氏の場合は、それも無理。
